From the Health Bureau, Peoples
Republic of China, XiaoXiao Chan reporting.
Health outcomes that consumers of bamboo extract can expect are:
- increased energy
- lower cholesterol
- balanced moods
- reduced headaches
- cleansed intestines
- reduced menopause symptoms
- improved digestion
- higher sexual energy
- increased metabolism (of sugars)
- reduced memory loss
- protection from bacterial infections and viruses
- release of heavy metal toxicity (led, mercury, cadmium, etc.)
High Tech Says. . . .
- Bamboo extract is a rich source of immuno-balancing antioxidants
as well as an inhibitor of free fatty acids in skeletal, pancreatic,
and liver cells (the precursor of type 2 Diabetes); current research,
University of Hawaii, John A Burns School of Medicine.
- Bamboo extract reduces tumor size, Meiji University, Japan
- Bamboo extract (especially when combined with Cordyceps mushroom,
shows strength as an anti-viral agent, Kanggye Medical University
- University of Zheijiang, China: current research shows Bamboo
extracts impact on the inhibition of acrylamide as well as anti-bacterial
properties that extend the shelf life of animal protein products
In related research, Dr. Janine Higgins at the University of
Colorado has determined the efficacy of resistant starches (those
that combine soluble and insoluble fibres) for reducing risk of
diabetes and lowering cholesterol. Bamboo extract is one of the
rare edibles that combines both.
Down the toilet. . . .
Research shows that supplements in pill form can be ineffective.
Enzymes released during chewing are not released when swallowing
pills. Too many undigested capsules (compressed powder) are found
in sewer systems. The importance of eating foods with nutritional
value, rather then ‘quick fix pill popping’, is growing.
Why BamBOOM!™ now?
- Baby Boomers want to maintain health, lower cholesterol, protect
bones and skin, aid digestion, maintain memory, regulate moods,
and generally dip into the fountain of youth.
- No more estrogen therapy: menopausal women want natural, safe
ways to control mood swings, headaches, and hot flashes.
- Pandemic bacterial and viral infections at our door: fear is
driving a search for bonafide preventive, immune-balancing help.
Just look at vitamin sales in Asia post bird flu outbreaks.
- Heavy metal toxicity (mercury, led, cadmium, etc) is linked
to over $4B in healthcare expenditures in the USA alone. Dietary
solutions that help the body release such heavy metal toxins are
growing in demand.
- Consuming nutritional supplements in pill or liquid form requires
regimen. But meals happen any time!
- Pill-popping can equate to ‘taking drugs’ and can
open the door psychologically to illegal drug taking behaviors
“If Mommy does it, its OK for me.”
- Genetic engineering of produce has unproven outcomes for the
human body. Most nations reject engineered foods and are dependent
on discovering natural, ecological, and bio-available nutritional
sources, such as Golden Basin’s line of products.
Natural Food: the highest tech of all!
There is no question that the best way to get daily required nutrients
is from food.
Golden Basin technology is focused on the food-based delivery
of natural, organic nutrients – particularly those that
have shown health impacts in the indigenous peoples of Asia for
centuries.
Ancient Wisdom with a High Tech Twist
As pollution grows and scarcity increases, for both the ‘haves’
and have-nots’, the market for functional food will know
no limits.
Rice feeds more than 2/3 of the world. Yet, its nutritional value
is only good for simple energy --
the kind that lets you take a walk, or boil water.
Rice is low in what the China Health Bureau, as well world health
professionals, call micro-nutrients. Imagine two bands of nutrients:
one broad and one micro. Micro-nutrients are the small doses of
trace elements that are responsible for keeping us healthy and
vital – and especially free from losing sight, hearing,
and brain power.
About Immunity. . . .
BamBoom!™ is an immuno-modulator. And that is good. The general
mythology about the immune system actually hinders health. Anecdotal
stories from anti-oxidant marketers who push the consumption of
their products fail to reveal that a strong immune system is a
modulated or balanced system. Too much anti-oxidation is as bad
as too little. As well, swallowing pills may prevent the absorption
of the lion’s share of those same anti-oxidants. Many vitamin
pills are found, whole, in the sewer systems of our communities.
The ideal solution is to eat (chew -- releasing digestive enzymes,
swallow, and digest) anti-oxidants that optimally modulate the
immune system. Strength resides in balance.
Where did I put my keys?
We’ve all had the problem of losing keys or not being able
to remember a name because we just cannot seem to get those mental
cogs turning. Concentration doesn’t have to be a chore –
especially for children. Physicians continually advise that the
right eating habits can have a positive effect on body and brain
performance.
Because the brain cannot store energy to do its job effectively,
it needs a constant supply from food. And, simple carbohydrates
(high energy sweet snacks) are the biggest brain drain: they put
the brain through a roller coaster of energy levels that seriously
interfere with concentration, memory, and performance (Dr. Robert
Ho Ting Kwok, Director, Canossa Hospital Brain Center and Cenegenarian
Medical Institute, Hong Kong).
The brain behaves sluggishly after a meal – caused by ‘reactive
hypoglycemia’ in which digested carbohydrates lead to a
big surge of insulin, which in turn brings blood sugar levels
crashing back down. Carbs are classified according to glycemic
index (GI) which measures how quickly they are digested and converted
to energy in the form of glucose. High GI over-stimulates insulin
and produces energy surges. Low GI (including BamBoom!™) keeps
blood glucose levels steady.

Food for Thought. . . .
University of California recently published research indicating
that school children who don’t have the right intake, especially
in the morning, learn more slowly that those who do. Reading,
comprehension skills, and the use of newly learned vocabulary
were significantly worse. Georgia Guldan, Professor or Food and
Nutrition, Chinese University of Hong Kong, states: “Without
appropriate nutrition children remain tired and hungry throughout
the day which adversely affects their attention span and ability
to learn.”
Along with complex carbs, proteins are vital for brain activity.
Neurotransmitters which carry messages between brain and nerve
cells throughout the body are made from amino acids. An ideal
brain meal needs to contain protein, complementary amino acids
which facilitate protein uptake, low GI carbohydrates, and mono-unsaturated
fat. Musubi/rice balls (with some type of meat) would be perfect
if the rice content is infused with BamBoom!™
Micro-nutrients are inherently important for brain functioning
as well: vitamins C & E, thiamine, B12, pyridoxine, potassium,
selenium and zinc (all evident in BamBoom!™). Acetyl choline is
a major neurotransmitter and crucial for learning and memory.
Choline serves equally so. Acetyl -1- carnitine is an amino acid
which enhances energy metabolism in brain cells. Studies have
shown that it stops age-related memory decline and the progression
of Alzheimers.
The rice for all the right reasons. . . .
Bamboo has long been the food of the healthy and aged in those
parts of Asia where highland Bamboo forests flourish. In fact,
more people live to be over 100 in those regions, per capita,
than in any other part of the world.
Recently, the Health Bureau of the People's Republic of China
researched and classified bamboo as a plant with a dual-purpose:
nutrition and pharmaceutical, or a nutraceutical!
Golden Basin's Bamboo Extract has been found to include flavones,
phenolic acid, protein, lactones, polyose, amino acids, micro-nutrients,
anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals. The unique combination,
components of which are synergistic, is believed to impact important
health outcomes: reduction of blood vessel, heart, and liver disease
(including cancer in general), lower cholesterol and blood lipids,
expanded capillary action, enhanced microcirculation (precluding
stroke), stronger memory capacity, cleaner, detoxified colons,
stronger bones, high sleep quality, and clear, healthy skin. Synergy
is the key with each component boosting the power of others. Most
vitamins and minerals need a boost from other vitamins and minerals
to be processed. For instance, the human body needs Iron in order
to process Vitamin C. Bamboo provides an array of synergistic
components.
Additionally, In the Second International Natural Antioxidant
Meeting supported by UNESCO, among others, experts reported the
impact of Bamboo on reduction of bone marrow toxicity that is
caused by chemotherapy.
Japanese scientists have discovered that the internal structure
of bamboo flavanoid is similar to that of hemoglobin in human
beings. With this in mind, it may be no surprise that bamboo flavonoid
contained in our Extract is safe, as opposed to plants with similar
effects such as gingko. Up to now, no such kind of harmful elements
have been discovered in bamboo, nor in Golden Basin’s Bamboo
Extract.
Golden Basin spent 7 years in the development of our Bamboo Extract
that is infused in our rice. It was well worth the wait!
Starch and solubility. . . .
It is well-known that nutrition determines how we feel on the
inside as well as how we look on the outside. The vitamins and
minerals in BamBoom!™ directly influence blood vessel functioning,
cell regeneration, waste removal, and the balance of the collagen
matrix that maintains healthy, glowing skin, nails, and hair.
BamBoom!™ provides a big boost of water soluble silica and selenium
– both of which are essential for maintaining healthy bone
and connective tissue. Traces of silica are found in every organ
and cell of the body, with its greatest concentration in cartilage,
blood vessels, skin and hair. Silica not only enables your body's
structural framework to work, it will also help natural good looks
hold up too.
An array of studies have revealed that silica is also critical
to bone mineralization and calcification and may be helpful in
preventing diseases such as osteoporosis. In fact, loss of bone
density and calcium deposition is nearly always accompanied by
a significant decline in silica concentration in tissues.
Additional research demonstrates that silica plays a vital role
in the formation of apatite crystal, the main constituent in bone.
In fact, a study by G. Stendig-Kindberg, et al., looked at the
effects of silica, fluoride and magnesium on bone-mineral density.
After one year, women who received silica supplementation achieved
a statistically significant increase in bone mass density.
Silica is also involved in maintaining the integrity of blood
vessel walls. Arteriosclerosis is a condition in which the arteries
become blocked and hardened by cholesterol plaque and abnormal
arterial tissue growth. Silica levels of the aorta, the heart's
major blood pathway, also decline with age, and the surrounding
connective tissues may show signs of weakening. In fact, it is
the absence of silica in the lining of the arterial walls that
helps to contribute to the development of plaque deposits.
Recent research argues that normal levels of silica, especially
in the presence of magnesium (both naturally occurring in BamBoom!™),
may counteract the negative effects of aluminum in the body that
may accumulate from processed foods, medicines, cookware or drinking
water by interfering with the absorption and accelerating its
excretion.
Fiber, the fabric of health….
Dietary fiber comes from the thick cell wall of plants. It is
an indigestible complex carbohydrate. Fiber is divided into two
general categories: water soluble and insoluble.
Research tells us that soluble fiber lowers cholesterol. However,
the degree of cholesterol reduction in many studies is modest.
Diets higher in insoluble fiber (mostly unrelated to cholesterol
levels) have been reported to correlate better with protection
against heart disease.
Soluble fiber can also lower blood sugar levels in people with
diabetes; increasing fiber decreases the body’s need for
insulin—a good sign for diabetics. Diets high in insoluble
fiber associate with protection from adult-onset diabetes.
Insoluble fiber also softens stool, which helps move it through
the intestinal tract in less time. For this reason, insoluble
fiber is partially effective as a treatment for constipation.
Fiber also fills the stomach, reducing appetite leading to weight
loss.
Resistant Starch. . . .
has the best qualities of soluble and insoluble fiber (Dr. Janine
Higgens, Dept of Medicine, University of Colorado). It promotes
the growth of friendly bacteria in the colon and discourages the
growth of unhealthy bacteria. When friendly bacteria feed on resistant
starch they produce butyrate, a fatty acid. Having a large concentration
of butyrate means you are less likely to develop colon cancer,
according to Jim Krystosik, “Carbs from Heaven, Carbs from
Hell,” 2004. More immediately, consuming resistant starch
also helps maintain bowel health. Resistant start also helps modulate
blood sugar. When you eat cake, your insulin spikes. If you consume
resistant starch, the insulin spike is attenuated. Thus resistant
starch aids diabetics normalize their blood sugar levels. It also
can aid in the discipline of sticking to a diet by minimizing
the urge to eat based on low blood sugar. Suggested daily consumption
of resistant starch is 15 – 20 gr per day.
